Video productions are a process. First, the messaging is established and goals are set. Then comes scripting and storyboarding. Then filming, editing and distribution. From beginning to end, we’re in control of the creative process.
Shaking things up is a kind of mantra at Mondo, though. So on our latest production for Landmark College, we decided to let go of some of the creative process. Instead of doing the filming ourselves, we supplied Flip cameras to a few students and let them run wild for a few weeks. Their only instruction was to “show us the REAL Landmark.”
The footage that came back was pure gold. There is no way our professional film crew could ever have captured the intimate moments that the students gathered. Sure, the editing took longer and the footage was a little shaky, but the genuine vibe of the end-product was well worth the gamble.
To shaking things up…
